Here is my "polka-dot and stripes" layout with a "blue bird":

This is a picture of my daughter and one-and-only grandchild Thomas.  I haven't chosen a title for the page yet.............I think it will be "You Make My Heart Sing".  My nickname for my daughter, Elaine, has been "Lainy Bird" since she was a very little girl and I still call her that on occasion.  Hence, the bird...........

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look~  Please leave a comment, I would love to know you were here!

March 29th, 2013

Here is my second scrapbook page for the month of March.  This challenge was to use 50% or more Kraft paper in the layout and use 3 metal embellishments.

Here is my interpretation of the challenge:

You can tell I am behind on my scrap-booking..........this picture was taken, as you can see, in August of 2011.  My daughter had bought a house and we were getting it ready to move in.  Thomas did some "sweat equity" in his own room.  He really like rolling the paint.  He really did do a good job (for an 8 year old)!

The base of the layout is Kraft paper that I stamped along the bottom with a circle stamp from the "Rock the Block" stamp set from Close To My Heart.  The title is also done with a Close To My Heart stamp"Home Sweet Home" stamp of the month collection. Other components made with Kraft paper are the frames around the pictures; the title, the journal spot, and the "life's good" ticket.  The three+ metal embellishments are the key on the journal spot; the ribbon slides; the yellow hinges, and the brads.  Close To My Heart stick-ease stickers are the corner squares, the large yellow bracket, and the memories oval  I used blue because that is what the room was painted and the red is Thomas' favorite color.  I am not sure where the quote came from????

Thanks for taking a look.

This is the sketch for this challenge:

This is my interpretation:

This is my grandson, Thomas checking out my camera.  I used scraps from my scrap stash to provide the color in this layout.  The title and other "labels" are from the Close To My Heart stamp set "Take A Picture".  I cut around Thomas because the background was distracting and not very flattering.  The black sparkles, ribbon and medallion brad are from Close To My Heart as well.  The butterfly brads are not CTMH but I don't remember where I purchased them or when.  I have had them for quite some time and the package is long gone..............

Thanks for stopping by.
